With the advancements in construction industry, new building materials are being presented to the market every day. When it comes to the interior of a building, the first material that comes to mind is gypsum board.

Gypsum boards are being widely used for ceiling, wall and also for partitioning a big space inside residential or industrial buildings. Commercially, they call it “Dry Wall” because they come pre-built to the construction site and ready to be installed. Gypsum boards are made of a gypsum core with a paper facing on both sides and create a monolithic surface that is both beautiful yet easy to cut or drill.

Why Gypsum?

Gypsum is one the most abundant materials that can be found nearly anywhere on the crust of the earth. Gypsum by nature has excellent resistance against fire, is highly soundproof, aesthetically looks beautiful and is easy to work with. It’s also cheap and widely accessible.

The installation of gypsum boards is easily done by using framing members, fasteners and adhesives. Therefore it’s economically more cost effective than traditional ways of applying gypsum mortar on the walls.

This way of installation allows a whole host of different material to be used in between two gypsum boards as thermal and sound insulation of the wall.

Thermal insulation foams

An effective and popular way of mitigating heat conduction in residential and industrial buildings is to use thermal insulation foams. Insulation foams are made of polymers and come in different densities and thicknesses based on your needs, EPE, XPE, SP-FLEX, and REBOUND in Rolls, Sheet, and Mattress.

Combining gypsum boards and insulation foams is one of the best ways to control the temperature inside a house. This composition provides excellent acoustic and thermal absorption and at the same time, lowers the weight of the walls and ceiling significantly due to being extremely lightweight yet durable enough against impacts and pressure.
